» Who We Are

Happy Haven, a Christian group home, serves area children in two ways — residential care and family preservation services. Our desire is to provide a safe, supportive place to live for a period of time when a child's living situation has become physically and/or emotionally unhealthy.

We are a private agency that accepts referrals from families or community members. We do not receive state referrals; our goal is to work with children and families before the state pursues taking custody.

» Why Does a Child Come to Happy Haven?

A child referred to Happy Haven may face problems such as abuse, neglect, unruliness, communication problems, and family conflict.

We provide whatever services it takes to resolve the family issues. Our desire is for the child to return home as soon as possible. Services may include counseling and spiritual support.

» What Can a Child Expect When Living on Campus?

As a residential care facility, we provide a structured, Christian environment 24 hours a day. A child is assigned to a family, led by house parents, who love and care for children in a setting similar to a foster home setting. The children attend public school, and we provide counseling, tutoring, and spiritual activities for these children.

We currently can house up to 24 children, but we usually place up to 8 children in each home depending on the needs of the children.
