HOUSTON BYNUM, administrator
On May 1, 2010, Houston Bynum began his service as the administrator of Happy Haven Children’s Home. A native of Cowan, TN, Houston is a preacher with 45 years of experience in ministry. He is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman (A.A.), Harding (B.A.), and Harding Graduate School of Religion (M.A.). He has served churches in Winchester, Manchester, Fayetteville, Chattanooga, and LaVergne, TN, as well as in Florida, Arkansas, and Georgia. He has been married since 1976 to Beverly Reed Bynum, who was born in Livingston and grew up in Winchester, TN. He and Beverly worship at the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. They have three children and three grandchildren.


BEVERLY BYNUM, administrative assistant
Beverly is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman (B.S. degree in Office Management). She has previously worked in education in Fayetteville, TN, in Special Education in Gwinnett County, GA, and more recently was the receptionist at the Gospel Advocate Company in Nashville. She and Houston worship at the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. They have three children and three grandchildren

ELAYNE MONTGOMERY, administrative assistant
Elayne has served Happy Haven since 2001. A native of Cookeville, she is a graduate of Putnam County Senior High School with additional business training through Tennessee Tech and a wealth of practical experience in the business field. She and her husband Art worship at the Willow Avenue Church of Christ. They have two daughters and two grandsons.

JOAN HUFSTEDLER, case worker
Joan Hufstedler is a graduate of Tennessee Tech (B.S. in education; M.A. in instructional leadership). She has 25 years of experience as a teacher and a literacy leader. Her most recent work was at Uffelman Elementary. Bill is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman and Lubbock Christian and is a minister. They have two children and eight grandchildren.

LINDA AND BRAD BERG, house parents
Linda and Brad Berg work with us as house parents and live in the Gainesboro house. They are both natives of Minnesota, attended Crossroads College, and formerly worked in Texas and Mexico in mission work. Brad and Linda worship at the Collegeside Church of Christ. They have six grown children and 22 grandchildren.

ANNA AND NATHANIEL JONES, house parents
Anna and Nathaniel Jones work with us as house parents. She is a native of Virginia; he is a native of Nashville and a graduate of Tennessee Tech. Anna and Nathaniel worship at the Collegeside Church of Christ. They have two children.

MICHELE AND ALAN THRASHER, house parents
Michele and Alan Thrasher work with us as house parents. She is a native of Texas; he is a native of Cookeville and works at Southland Distributors. Michele and Alan worship at the Sycamore Church of Christ. They have four children and two grandchildren.

ASIA HILL, relief house parent
Asia Hill is our relief house parent. A native of Cookeville, she formerly served in the U.S. Navy and has been a student at Tennessee Tech. Asia and her son worship at the Sycamore Church of Christ.
